ALOT

One fake word I see on the internet a lot is "alot."

Why is it that people write "alot" and never "alittle" or "abunch" or "adozen" or "ametricton"? It doesn't make any sense to me.

These things keep me up at night.

I completely agree. I cringe whenever I see "alot," which is far too often. (Also, "definately," which might just be the most misspelled word in existence.)

It’s good to see that someone else ponders the important issues of life.

I think you're making alot out of nothing

Chillax?

A common typo that bugs me is when someone types "you" instead of "your". For example: "I think you should have you head examined." It's pretty easy to miss when reading quickly, and it passes spelling checkers, but I see it on the internet, in emails, software, and even the occasional big-budget print ad.

If you become sensitive to it you will start to see it everywhere.

I always wondered why 'alot' showed up in my speck check errors - guess everyone else knows better. The one that got me forever was 'albeit' - I have heard and spoken it for years, but I never knew what 'all-bite' was when I read it - that is until my wife ridiculed me when I asked.
