"Put it in H!"

Not too long ago, I was drawn into watching The Bourne Identity, which Beth had captured on TiVo. I honestly had zero interest in it, but as I was passing through and saw her watching it, it totally drew me in. In the end, I found it much more enjoyable than I would have anticipated.

Given that, I was definitely open to seeing the sequel, The Bourne Supremacy, which we did earlier this evening. It lacked a little of the uniqueness that made Bourne Identity work so well, but I still liked it. One part in particular stood out - the car chase through Moscow at the end. It was confusing, kinetic and exciting all at the same time.

Also, I have decided that I want to drive a Russian taxi cab for a living. I'm tired of crashing programs - I want to crash cars! Wearing a five-point harness while I play Nascar 2003 just doesn't cut it.

(Side note - has anyone else noticed that all the "Buy" and "Pre-Order" links on the Aspyr website now take you to Amazon?)

There's something about car chase sequences filmed in European cities that I find infinitely more appealing than freeway racing in the US. "Ronin" still stands as one of my all-time favorite movies just on the basis of its car chases.

That's because all car chases on American freeways feature Burt Reynolds with 70's country blaring in the background.

Ronin features an Audi A8.

Europeans win! Yay!

Yeah, Glenda told someone on the IMG board a few days ago about the amazon thing: it probably makes sense, but it doubled the price on Alien Crossfire!

When The Damon Bourne Identity first started getting hyped up I happen to catch the last hour or so of the 80's version with Richard Chamberlain as Bourne, and Jacelyn Smith as Marie. It follows the main storyline of the book (which I just finished reading last week. Good book, only one complaint). When I saw the updated BI movie, it was a completely different story line.. well, other than Bourne having amnesia and the main female role being named Marie. I thought it was interesting that the main enemy in the originaly storyline was completely nonexistant. The second movie of the Damon/Bourne series was interesting. I thought it had elements from the first book and from what I've read, also bears no resemblence to the second book other than what's in the movie blurb.

I've been to Russia. I've seen their taxis driving. You'll probably want to get a game with more right turns. ;)

I found the camera work nauseating in the sequel, for sure a different director then the first. It was interesting, and decent action, but several times had to look away from the screen, really something a director should not be aiming for.
