The Ass-Blaster 9000
Yesterday, I went on my chair hunt and on a tip from Jason, checked out the office chairs at Costco. It was $100 - twice the price of my Wal-Mart special, but it's pretty comfortable and adjustable in just about any way you could want, so I went for it. So far, my ass hasn't complained. I've spent more time than I'd care to admit trying to find a link online to a picture of the chair, but so far no luck.
I mentioned before how Ian liked to sleep in my old chair. Interestingly, moments after I moved the old chair into the hall, Ian jumped up into it and promptly fell asleep. He's probably spent the bulk of the last 24 hours snoozing in that chair. While this hopefully will mean no more fights with him, it also means that I may have to keep that thing around as a sleeping spot for him.

do your cats still pee all over the place?

The Frickin' Cats have (as far as we know) restricted their peeing to the litter box. Now that we keep our bedroom door closed through most of the day, they don't really get a chance to tinkle on the bed any more. As it happens, a little over half the square footage that they have access to now is tiled, so I think it helps force them back into good behavior.

You'll be pleased to know that Ian has found your new ass holder and was fast asleep in it when I got up this morning. I guess he likes the new chair better now, too.

Maybe Ian had the same problem with the old chair that Brad did.. there was no sign of a fight between a cat and a chair was there? ;)

So Ian is a cat then?
Sorry, I'm new to your blog although I'm old to other places.
I always figured you for a dog man. My bad.

How'd you come up with the name "Ian?"

Truth be told, I'm a dog man who happens to have a cat. That goes back to my days living in an apartment when I'd have to leave for work each day. There was no realistic way for me to have a dog - at least one I'd like.
As for his name, that's an interesting story which probably deserves it's own blog entry some day.
